Alan Wojcik's Day in the Life
Saturday, 3 April 2004

Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: De/Vision-Try To Forget
Many of you know I am a bigger movie junkie than a wrestling junkie. I rented a great film last night that shows reality sometimes is better than fiction. The film is called SHATTERED GLASS. It based on the real events of Stephen Glass who wrote for the New Republic, George, Rolling Stone and others. He wrote 41 articles and 27 of them were partial or total fabrications. Makes you think next time you read something in a magazine. Tomorrow is a double feature day: Something's Gotta Give and Matchstick Men.

Some of you know my p/t job is as an usher at the St Pete Times Forum. Tonight is the end of the regular season for the Tampa Bay Lightning. I get asked all the time at work if the Lightning is my favorite hockey team. The answer I give yes I am a Lightning fan when the time clock is punched. I have been a Rangers fan all my life and I won't jump off the ship even though it is sinking fast. I will keep rooting for the Lightning as they pad my pocket. We need 16 wins to get to the cup Finals and that means work until early June.

How does he do it!?!!?
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Morrissey-Last of the Famous......
I got another cool gig, ring announcer for the Future Legends Of Wrestling (FLOW)based in New Port Richey. I did it once for my friend Eric Acker and his Evansville promotion CCW last October. I had fun with it and Nuke of FLOW asked me and here we go. Now onto the main topic of discussion.

The most asked question I get from readers of my interviews and the site is, "How did you get(insert name) to interview with you?" Well I have several godfather/mothers in this business. Here they are and my feelings on them:

Ron Niemi/Joe Price: When I returned to Florida in August of 2002 they became my new home. Both of them have allowed me access to their locker room and visiting talent. I consider Ron and Joe mentors in this business. Their locker room is the nicest bunch of men and women I have known. I hope all of them will be big stars and remember me when.

Steve Corino: "The King of Old School" is the main reason I have alanwojcik.com. He sat with me for 2hrs and 30 mins in May of 2003 and gave me credibility with the websites that feature my work. I will be in debt to him until I die.

Jody Davis/Tim Welch: Jody has since left NWA:TNA but Tim is still there. With the exception of Dusty Rhodes, they got me with all of the TNA talent. I used to live in Nashville and they seemed to have liked me when I attended the PPV each week. Tim is the jack of all trades with TNA and deserves a pay raise.

So that's how I do it. Some people I got from hard work on my own by writing their websites (Simon Diamond/Steve Corino) or speaking to them in person at events(CM Punk/Mike Graham) or being friends with them before I ever got into writing (Eric Acker/Chase Stevens/Athena.)
